Janet Barresi

Oklahoma State Superintendent of Public Instruction

A Message from The Chief

Oklahoma is moving forward confidently this year with a lineup of major reforms including a new Teacher and Leader Effectiveness system, reading requirements for third graders in 2013-2014, and a new A-F report card system that will issue letter grades for schools and school district performance this fall. Shepherding reforms is not always easy, and having a group of other education chiefs helping to lead the way has helped immeasurably. My involvement in Chiefs for Change has been integral to advancing these key reforms in Oklahoma.
