We must get all students safely back into the classroom as quickly as possible and are pleased that President-elect Joe Biden’s plan released tonight calls on Congress to give schools “everything they need to safely reopen.” The President-elect has proposed significant investments to expand COVID-19 testing, national vaccination efforts, and interventions to help accelerate learning and support students’ academic, mental health, and social and emotional needs. These investments are critical in order to stem the tide of the pandemic, ensure children can learn and thrive, and fully reopen our nation’s economy.
