Kunjan Narechania is the former CEO of the Louisiana Recovery School District (RSD). In that role, she oversaw the unification of schools in New Orleans and statewide school improvement efforts under the Every Student Succeeds Act. She previously served as chief operating officer for the Louisiana Department of Education, where she was responsible for leading the portfolio office at the department and managing internal operations at the RSD.

Prior to that, Narechania was the vice president of teacher support and development and held several other leadership positions with Teach For America. She began her career as a teacher in Durham, N.C., where, by her third year teaching, her students achieved the highest math scores at her school. Narechania holds a bachelor’s in biology and psychology from the University of Illinois. She is an alumnus of the first cohort of the Chiefs for Change Future Chiefs leadership development program.
